Dutch chip shop to serve cannabis mayonnaise

A chain of chip shops in the Netherlands is to offer diners cannabis-flavoured mayonnaise.

However, diners at Manneken Pis will be able to smother their Flemish fries with the sauce safe in the knowledge it will not give them the munchies or make them high. The mayonnaise has been made without the active ingredient tetrahydrocannabinol, commonly known as THC.

Albert van Beek, the chip shop chain's owner, says the new sauce has the unmistakable taste of weed. "We are the first to weed sauce on the market and we are proud!", he said.

"I had the idea because I smell the cannabis coming from the coffee shop opposite my chip shop in Amsterdam every day." Mr van Beek's menus will clearly state that the mayonnaise - vastly more popular with chips in the Netherlands and Belgium than ketchup or vinegar - contains no euphoric THC.

I'm intrigued by the brand. What's Manneken Pis?

It's both the name of the chip shops but, more famously, a statue in Brussels, Belgium.

A container displaying a cartoon of a guy with mysterious ejacula emerging from his penis and something named "white sauce" on top of the food?

Pass, thanks.
